Since 1968 Sanvito & Somaschini produces molds of any size for thermoplastic and thermoset for the automotive industry.

We have lived the history of the car, have been part of it and have contributed to redesign shapes and functionalities with OEM and TIER-1 partners from all over the world. Today, Sanvito & Somaschini is one of the largest mold makers in Italy and the only one in Europe to offer a complete service, from design and co-design to optimized try-out, from mechanical processing to the most particular finishes, from choosing the best raw materials to assembling every little component, with the aim of guaranteeing precise, reliable and durable steel molds.

The story of Sanvito & Somaschini, the pioneers of plastic in Italy

1968

Alfredo Sanvito and Giuseppe Somaschini found “Sanvito & Somaschini”, at the time a small metalworking workshop, but soon destined for expanding thanks to the entrepreneurial skills of the two young founders.

1973

The fast expansion of the company requires new investments and spaces. So, the first large production site is built.

1974

The production of the first Sanvito & Somaschini molds for interior design, design, radio-tv and the automotive industry begins.

1978

Thanks to an important investment in machines and specialized manpower, Sanvito & Somaschini begins to head towards the production of molds for the automotive industry.

1980

Sanvito & Somaschini, a craft company before, now becomes Snc. New machines reorganize the production, and the company begins to build medium-sized molds for thermoplastic and thermoset destined to realize bumpers and lights.

1982

The fast growth requires a new legal status: Sanvito & Somaschini Srl is created. The business strategies of the founders concentrate more and more on the quality and reliability of their molds, rather than on simple cost policies, and they are the result of the continuous search for increasingly advanced technologies for the time. Thanks to the new entrepreneurial vision, Sanvito & Somaschini wins its first big order for producing the molds of FIAT Ritmo lights.

1989

Opening of the second production plant in Renate, dedicated to the production of large molds for the automotive industry.

1990

In the 1990s Sanvito & Somaschini continues to expand, reaching over 100 employees and several partners.

1998

The dimensions of the company require a new historical step forward: Sanvito & Somaschini becomes S.p.A.

2001

With the beginning of the new millennium, all the production is exclusively concentrated on realizing medium and large molds.

2014

The two founders are succeeded by the second generation of Sanvito & Somaschini in the management of the company, ensuring continuity, stability and modernity to the business.

2018

Research and innovation, which have always been part of the mission of Sanvito & Somaschini, continue, thanks to the installation of a new KM 4500-ton injection molding machine, capable of producing large and hybrid components, such as front-end and tailgate.

2020

With the entry into the try-out center of the new KM 2300-ton 4K injection molding machine, Sanvito & Somaschini continues to invest in the future of the automotive industry, confirming itself as a leading company in the construction of molds, ready to support the new challenges of the electric world and hybrid components.
